For some artists like Kathy Bianco from Indianapolis, who painted the Farmer’s Market, it was an opportunity to visit Zionsville and experience the activity of the town.

It was a tough year to be a judge at the annual Zionsville Paint Out. A record number of artists participated in the Aug. 5 event. “I was really proud of the kids. There’s a lot of potential” said judge and artist David Nichol. “Professional artists, you don’t make it easy.” Fifty-nine artists, 12 of whom were in the youth and teen categories, spent several hours painting in plein air, or outdoors, throughout Zionsville.
